Annette Funicello did not only perform and sing, she was also an actor. She is best known for her role as one of the original "Mouseketeers" in the show 'Mickey Mouse Club.' The singer began her singing career in her teens and became famous for her hit tracks "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." Annette was born and was raised by Italian immigrants living in Utica when she was a kid and is an extremely introverted person. In an effort to create her name within the entertainment industry she started to perform and perform. In the mid-1950s, she played in numerous Disney sketches as part of one the "Mouseketeers" which earned her considerable popularity. Annette was able to shed her Disney image as she grew up and took the stage in adult characters. She was best known as one of the first actors who pioneered"beach parties" and the "beach party" style of film. The films she appeared in included 'Pajama Party', 'How to stuff a wild bikini', and 'Beach Party'. She continued to make music albums.
